EAA Web Session ‚Non-Life Reserving: From Basics to Advanced Methods‘

1. Juni 2027, 09:00 - 12:30

Non-life reserving remains a core actuarial activity, combining established triangle-based methods with increasing expectations around uncertainty assessment, inflation, granular modelling and risk management. While classical techniques such as Chain-Ladder and Bornhuetter-Ferguson remain central to market practice, actuaries increasingly need to understand when these methods require adjustment and how more advanced approaches can complement them.

This web session provides a structured journey from reserving fundamentals to advanced applications. It combines methodological concepts with practical examples and covers classical reserving techniques as well as different valuation frameworks, stochastic reserving, advanced adjustments for changes in claims development, inflation modelling, individual claims reserving and the risk-management view of reserves, including the treatment of reserve risk under Solvency II (claims development result simulations and the reserve-risk Standard Formula and USP methodologies).

This series consists of two parts, each comprising two sessions, and each part can also be booked individually for those who only wish to take part in one of the sessions. A 10% discount is already included in the fee for this session including both parts.
The web session on 5 and 6 April (Basics) can be booked separately here: https://actuarial-academy.com/en/continuing-education/upcoming-trainings/detail/non-life-reserving-basics-e0608/
The web session on 31 May and 1 June (Advanced Methods) can be booked separately here: https://actuarial-academy.com/en/continuing-education/upcoming-trainings/detail/non-life-reserving-advanced-methods-e0609/
